Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a carboxymethyl derivative of cellulose, also known as cellulose gum. It belongs to anionic cellulose ether and is the main ionic cellulose gum. It is usually an anionic macromolecular compound prepared by the reaction of natural cellulose with caustic soda and monochloroacetic acid. The molecular weight of the compound varies from thousands to millions.

Application 

1.Used as emulsion stabilizer, thickener and stabilizer; Tissue improver; Gelatin; Non nutritive bulking agent; Water movement control agent; Foam stabilizer; Reduce fat absorption. 2.Widely used as thickener, suspending agent, adhesive, protective colloid, etc. in the pharmaceutical, daily chemical and food industries 3.Used in oil drilling, textile printing and dyeing, paper reinforcement, adhesives, etc 4.Used for washing, cigarette, building and daily chemical industry 5.CMC is mainly used to prepare soap and synthetic detergent.
